You've heard of the saying, "We become what we think of most". Most often we don't realize how much power our thoughts really have. Scientists are now able to prove how much our thoughts really do affect our reality.
Read this article to learn more. Since what we think of really affects our world around us we need to be consciously aware of what we're thinking of. Did you know you have the power to affect your reality with simply your mind?

Intention is a huge part of making those New Year resolutions stick. Well, intention and commitment. Intention is that inner pull, the feeling we have inside. I'm sure we've all heard someone ask, "do you intend on finishing this?". We did intend on it but sometimes that intention can take a turn. We're creatures of habit, when we change our habit we intend to change it for good but often we start out great and slowly those doubts and excuses creep in and we slip back into old habits. So how do we break up with those pesky old habits once and for all?
it's that time of year where we spend time with family and friends, where we think back on how our year has gone by so quickly, we think about the year we've had and what is to come. The holidays are a time for celebration, for togetherness.. We shouldn't celebrate just one day though, we should be encouraging ourselves and others to bring that same joy and happiness we have on christmas to the other 364 days. i have seen and participated myself in purchasing another persons coffee or food at the drive thru, opening the door for someone with their hands full, or helping to pick up the items dropped by someone who is frazzled. these little things aren't so little. We never know what someone else may be going through. This may be the day they lost their spouse, their pet, their parent, any number of things. That random act of kindness that you offered could be exactly what they needed to bring them joy. It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of all the things we have to do. In the last few years I have been noticing more and more people are beginning their awakening. The world is waking up and it's an exciting time on this planet! While more people are waking up, it means more "newborns" out there, questioning everything, and that is a wonderful thing. If each of us help to guide another on the journey through their awakening we can all bring together a collective awakening of the world. What amazing things would happen if we all awakened? We would have peace, kindness, love, in exponential amounts. There would be no disease, no hostility, no violence, no hatred, only PEACE! I think of the newbies often and what it would be like with a world full of only good. While each of us can help others on their journeys, we also must keep in mind that we all have our own paths. Just because someone else's path doesn't match yours doesn't make it wrong, as long as they are not hurting others and spreading love and light. We will inevitably encounter those who don't believe in awakening. Those people are rigid in their beliefs. They are often the ones you see on television arguing with others over politics, environmental issues, etc... I've encountered some of those in my own life and while it's so tempting to really dig down and discuss those issues in hopes of them waking up, it's not always a good idea. As far as the people I have encountered like that with such vastly differing viewpoints, it's best to just nod and move on to a topic that's not so controversial, like puppies or Starbucks Hot Cocoa, new car smell, you get the idea. Ultimately, we all want the world to be a better place and your love and kindness you show towards yourself and others shines bright and loud. Keep up the love! Love and Light Marlo Jane www.divinesightphotos.weebly.com Beautiful moments happen all the time. Our society seems to be so focused on what tragedy is happening or will happen. But what about the beautiful moments. The woman who pays for a strangers coffee, the nearly extinct animal that just gave birth, the dog that saved his owners from a house fire. These moments happen all the time, with so little focus on them.
Marlo underwent her first of two corneal transplants for kerataconus. The surgery itself was not so difficult. The recovery however has been much more difficult than she anticipated. She was not expecting the complications and the long recovery time.
Children are naturally resilient. Falling off their bike and scraping their knee doesn't knock them down for long. As a 10 year old child, Marlo was brought to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis for a thoracic spinal fusion for Scoliosis. Her first of many surgeries to come.
Surgery in adulthood is vastly different from surgery as a child. As an adult you are out of commission for a longer duration than a child, even for the same procedure. Forgiving others can be the most difficult thing to do, especially when someone hurts you so deeply. Consider what happens when holding on to the anger and hurt. All you're doing is hurting yourself. Someone put it so perfectly saying, "holding onto anger is like holding fire and expecting it to burn the other person. The only one you hurt is yourself." Holding on to anger affects you emotionally and physically, causing physical pain in the form of illness, anxiety, depression, among other things. Even though it can be the most difficult thing to do, it is also the most rewarding, to let go of the hurt, the pain, and free yourself from those shackles you've kept yourself in.
How do you find peace and calm? Meditation and inner reflection.
Meditation is the clearing of the mind and connecting with your soul. Meditation brings you back to your soul, the essence of you. It is a beautiful and natural practice. It's those tragic moments like those from yesterdays devastating tornado in Oklahoma that urge us to ask, "Where is the beauty in such tragedy?". It's often hard to see at first, it's those first moments that are the most difficult, the hardest to view anything but misery. However, if you take a step back and really look from a different angle you'll undoubtedly find beauty. Many websites, magazines have posted articles and photographs depicting the very thing I'm speaking of. They are spotlighting the love all around Oklahoma.
